The handful of early decisions that decide whether your settlement snowballs or stalls.

  • Make the Power Plant your first priority — its level caps how high you can level heroes and unlocks advanced facilities, but you don't need to rush Power Plant 30 immediately.
  • Assign survivors to the right jobs (lumberjack, chef, hunter, builder) and keep them fed and rested — fatigue and hunger tank productivity and can cause failures in key moments.
  • Clear fog to expand tiles, and prioritize tiles that match your current shortage (wood, food, or stone) rather than clearing at random.
  • Join an alliance as early as possible for protection, help speed-ups, and access to cooperative content.
  • Spend speed-ups with a plan across construction, research, training, and healing — dumping them randomly leaves you perpetually short.
  • Lean on accessible SR heroes early (Chef, Sarge, Eva) to stabilize food, stamina, and gathering; don't pour resources into filler heroes.
  • Wire electricity to your production buildings to accelerate output once the Power Plant supports it.
