Star Trek Fleet Command Beginner's Guide: Your First 30 Days

How to build momentum in STFC without burning resources, over-leveling, or missing the choices that matter most early.

By PC Game Pilot·Beginner·~6 min·Updated 19 Aug 2026

Your first 30 days in STFC should be about control. The trap is rushing Operations because every upgrade feels like progress. In practice, overleveling before your ships, crews, research and defenses are ready makes you weaker for your bracket and easier to raid.

  • Join an active alliance early. Alliance help, event rewards and protection matter more than another random building upgrade.
  • Do not rush Ops. Push Operations only when your main combat ship, miner, station defenses and research are healthy for the next band.
  • Spend raidable resources. Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium sitting in your station are invitations. Turn them into useful upgrades.
  • Build one plan at a time. Choose whether today is about hostile grinding, mining, missions, faction reputation or events. Trying to do everything wastes speedups.
  • Use the ship triangle. Interceptors beat Battleships, Battleships beat Explorers, and Explorers beat Interceptors. Bring the right hull before blaming power numbers.
  • Watch Battle Pass choices. Update 94 adds more choice-token exchanges, so claims should match your Operations level and current bottleneck.
  • Treat codes as official-only. Scopely says promo codes can be targeted, time-limited and ineligible by account. Use official pages and in-game sources before trusting lists.
