About Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox continues the long-running action RPG series with renowned adventurer Adol the Red Christin and his companion Dogi arriving at Balduq, a city annexed by the Romun Empire, only for Adol to be detained before he can even step inside. While imprisoned he meets a mysterious woman named Aprilis, who transforms him into a Monstrum, a being granted supernatural Gifts and the power to exorcise monsters. Adol must then ally with fellow Monstrum to fend off the fearsome threats emerging from a shadowy dimension called the Grimwald Nox while unravelling the mysteries of the Monstrum curse and the unrest gripping Balduq.

Play lets you take control of any of the six notorious Monstrum, each with unique Gifts that grant abilities like scaling sheer walls or detecting hidden objects to defend the city from shadowy creatures. You explore the massive city, accept quests to aid its people and venture into the Grimwald Nox to vanquish its dangers. Combat carries forward familiar mechanics such as Flash Dodge and Flash Guard for outmanoeuvring enemies, and adds fresh systems including Gifts and Boost Mode to deepen your capabilities. It is a rich, story-driven action RPG on PC.
