Yoku's Island Express follows Yoku, a small dung beetle who arrives on the tropical paradise of Mokumana ready for an easy life of soaking up sun and delivering parcels. Those plans are upended when an ancient island deity is found trapped in a restless sleep, leaving it to Yoku to help. What sets the game apart is its unusual blend of pinball mechanics with platforming and open-world exploration, as you flip and bump the pint-sized hero across a stunning, hand-painted island on a quest to rebuild the post office and rouse an old god from its slumber.
The adventure is non-linear, giving you the freedom to choose your own path across multiple questlines as you roam a variety of regions, from tropical beaches and lush jungles to snowy mountains, mysterious caves and steamy hot springs. Helping the friendly locals earns you new power-ups, such as a Noisemaker for vacuuming explosive slugs and waking sleepy villagers, while a captivating story introduces a cast of memorable characters and hidden island secrets. Epic boss battles round things out as you use Yoku's trusty ball to deliver a fitting reply. It is an inventive family-friendly indie adventure and platformer on PC.
