Just over a week after launch, Where Winds Meet peaked at more than 251,000 concurrent players on Steam (23 November 2025), after drawing over two million players in its first 24 hours. That was enough to rank it among Steam's five most-played games at the time.
The surge underlined how much appetite there is for a big-budget, free-to-play wuxia open world — and set NetEase up for a rapid mobile and console rollout.
