About Warcraft® I: Remastered

Warcraft® I: Remastered poster

Warcraft I: Remastered revisits the game that started a saga spanning three decades, taking the original 1994 real-time strategy title and refreshing it with brand-new visuals and modernized controls. It returns players to the opening chapter of Azeroth's story, the pivotal war between Orcs and Humans that shook the realm to its foundations. You can defend the land as the noble Alliance or set out to conquer it as the ruthless Horde, taking on either faction across their respective campaigns or in custom skirmish matches.

The remaster lets you toggle freely between the classic pixel art and lovingly repainted hand-drawn artwork, with widescreen support and a range of interface updates rounding out the presentation. Familiar musical themes return uncompressed and rebalanced, while modern conveniences such as health bars, larger unit selection, and hotkey indicators smooth over the rougher edges of the original strategy design. There is also a preservation angle for longtime fans of the Warcraft universe: unearthed concept art from 1994, including previously unseen pieces, accompanies the game, letting PC players appreciate the lore and history as it was first envisioned.
