UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late[cl-r] unfolds within the Hollow Night, a mysterious event long watched over by the guardian organization known as the Night Blade. Its princess, Linne, has spent ages searching for a fabled sword of destiny, and she finds it in the hands of a young boy named Hyde. In this shadowy world, creatures called Voids feed on the power that surfaces, while In-births harness that same energy for their own purposes.

Investigating a sudden surge in both Voids and In-births, Linne uncovers a plot orchestrated by someone calling themselves Paradox, who proves to be Hilda, leader of a covert group called Amnesia. Determined to stop these schemes, Linne sets off into the Night, unaware that Hyde is trailing her, desperate to learn who and what she truly is. From this meeting the tale of the Hollow Night begins.

Styled as a fantasy, light-novel flavored fighting game, this PC title puts the phenomenon of the Abyss at its center and hands players a roster of twenty distinct characters.
