About Tyranny

Tyranny poster

Tyranny is a role-playing game built around meaningful, world-altering choices, memorable companions, and a fresh perspective on morality. It casts you as the arbiter of law in a world already devastated by war and conquered by a despot, and its central questions are unusually pointed: will you work within the system or try to tear it down, and will you act for the glory of Kyros, for the good of the world, or purely for your own ambition?

The game comes from Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind Pillars of Eternity, Fallout: New Vegas, and South Park: The Stick of Truth. Presented as a classic-styled RPG with an original story, Tyranny is shaped and molded by your actions at every turn. The very layout of the world can be altered by your decisions as you choose sides, forge allies and enemies, and fight for your own vision of law and order.

That emphasis on consequence gives the adventure a strongly reactive quality, where the immersive story bends around the path you carve through it. For PC players who enjoy action, adventure, and deep RPGs driven by narrative and choice, Tyranny stands out by putting you on the side of a conquering power and asking what kind of ruler, or rebel, you will become.
