About Torment: Tides of Numenera

Torment: Tides of Numenera poster

Torment: Tides of Numenera opens with an unforgettable premise: you are born falling from orbit, a brand-new mind inside a body once occupied by the Changing God, a being who has cheated death for millennia. Survive the plunge and your path through the Ninth World only grows stranger and deadlier, shadowed by an ancient, unstoppable creature known as the Sorrow and framed by a single defining question, what does one life matter?

This single-player, isometric, narrative-driven RPG is the thematic successor to Planescape: Torment and comes from creative talent behind that classic and the award-winning Wasteland 2. Set in Monte Cook's Numenera universe, it foregrounds a deep, thematically satisfying story in which your words, choices and actions serve as your primary weapons rather than mere combat stats. A cast of strange companions travels with you, their own motives capable of helping or harming your cause. The Ninth World itself is a fantastic, original setting rich with awe-inspiring visuals and unpredictable items, powered by the same technology behind Obsidian Entertainment's Pillars of Eternity, giving this indie strategy-tinged RPG a distinctive identity on PC.
