About The Thaumaturge

The Thaumaturge poster

The Thaumaturge is an isometric, story-rich RPG with a distinctive take on turn-based combat, character development, and investigation, confronting you with morally ambiguous choices in a world alive with mysterious powers and strange ethereal beings called salutors. The year is 1905, and Warsaw lives under the yoke of imperial Russian tsardom, home to a diverse population of Russian soldiers, Jewish merchants, Polish townspeople, and more, all with clashing interests. It is a buzzing metropolis of grand high-society parties and dark alleys alike, a city of great hopes on one hand and dark desires on the other.

Being a thaumaturge is at once a gift and a burden, and that duality defines the protagonist, Wiktor Szulski, who is drawn back to the turbulent streets of 20th-century Warsaw by family matters. The gift of thaumaturgy runs through his family legacy, passed down by his ancestors, and this mystical inheritance shapes his life around the pursuit of unearthly entities and their hosts.

Only a thaumaturge can tame the ethereal salutors, known to a select few, and harnessing them lies at the heart of the experience. Between its investigation mechanics, its atmospheric historical setting, and its focus on difficult moral decisions, this adventure RPG gives PC players a mystical journey through a richly realized Warsaw teeming with hidden powers.
