The Precinct is an action simulation game that casts you as Officer Nick Cordell Jr., a rookie beat cop fresh out of the Academy and standing on the front line of defense for the citizens of Averno. Framed by a healthy dose of 1980s noir, it drops you into a world of thrilling car chases and sandbox crime while you protect the populace and dig into the mystery of your father's murder in the line of duty.
A love letter to classic cop movies, the game fuses police simulation with sandbox spectacle. You patrol the streets and answer callouts to take on criminals both petty and powerful, choosing your own tactics in tense chases and shootouts. Averno feels alive, its gangs locked in shifting power struggles and its streets full of sandbox crimes ranging from parking infractions to bank heists, street racing to drug deals. Pursuits play out at high speed by car and even helicopter, and you never have to go it alone, with a support system that lets you call in squad cars, roadblocks, spike strips, and more.
The city itself is a restless place, an ever-shifting criminal underbelly filled with yuppies, bums, street vendors, and furious taxi drivers spread from the Projects to the Financial District. You chase suspects through neon-lit alleys, rain-soaked streets, and decaying parklands, all bound by a day and night cycle, giving this indie PC crime sim a living backdrop for its action.
