The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak is an action RPG set in a postwar Calvard basking in unprecedented economic prosperity. Yet the public grows uneasy as immigration rises and political reform sweeps the nation. At the center is Van Arkride, a young man who works as a spriggan, an unofficial profession that emerged from the Calvard Republic to handle jobs no legitimate outlet will touch, whether playing detective, negotiator, or bounty hunter. A seemingly routine request soon proves far larger than he expected, with the fate of the nation hanging in the balance.
The combat has been completely reworked around the AT (Action Time) battle command, which slides seamlessly from field skirmishes into turn-based fights. Driving this is the sixth-generation tactical orbment Xipha, delivering a combat experience unique to this entry in the Trails series.
Two new systems add further depth. The Topic System lets you use conversation topics, gathered by talking with people around the city, as bargaining chips to gain an edge in battle. The Alignment system, meanwhile, adjusts Van's three unique attributes, influencing his status, the forces he sides with or against, and even how the plot itself unfolds. Together they give PC players fresh ways to shape both fights and story in this dynamic RPG adventure.
