About The Last Stand: Aftermath

The Last Stand: Aftermath poster

The Last Stand: Aftermath is a premium singleplayer action adventure with rogue-lite bones, built by Con Artist Games, the veteran studio behind the long-running The Last Stand series. You pick a survivor and head out into the crumbling remains of civilization, burning fuel to reach fresh locations and scavenging whatever supplies you can turn into weapons and gear.

The world does not go easy on you. Zombies still prowl the streets in numbers, and your character is anything but a superhero. There is a grim twist too: you are already infected, so death is a matter of when rather than if, whether it arrives at the hands of the undead or from the virus eating away at you. When your survivor finally falls, you take up the game again as someone new, carrying forward perks and upgrades earned from how far the last run made it.

That structure keeps each attempt tense and disposable in equal measure. You sneak and fight across a hostile post-apocalyptic wasteland, outmaneuver rabid infected that sometimes wield deadly special abilities, and gather materials for crafting. Powerful mutations can make you stronger, though leaning on them courts the risk of undeath. The result is a moody, atmospheric zombie experience on PC where progress is measured across many lives rather than a single one.
