The Gunk follows Rani, one half of a duo of gritty space haulers scraping by, who stumble upon an untouched planet teeming with life. Having come in search of valuable resources, the pair seem to have hit the jackpot, but as they uncover the dormant secrets of a shattered civilization, they must contend with the curse of a toxic gunk parasite, all while getting drawn into a spiral of festering mistrust between them. It's an action-adventure where discovery and danger arrive hand in hand.

Your main tool is a trusty Power Glove, which lets you reverse the corruption, uncover ancient secrets, and heal the planet as you go. Exploration is central: you delve into a lush jungle world of damp caves and bygone ruins, using both ingenuity and quick reactions to overcome the challenges waiting in this mysterious, abandoned place.

Alongside the puzzle-like corruption and regrowth loop, the game leans on an intimate narrative that's tightly bound to the exploration.
