About The Darkest Tales

The Darkest Tales is an action-adventure platformer that casts you as Teddy, a stuffed bear on a gloomy, sinister journey to rescue his owner, Alicia, from a realm of dreams and warped childhood fantasies. Now that Alicia has grown up, her long-forgotten toy may be the only one willing to fight for her life, and that quest pulls Teddy through familiar fairytale landscapes twisted into something far darker.

The worlds you traverse are recognizable but distorted, populated by childhood figures who are no longer the friendly faces you remember. Gingerbread men thirst for blood, Sleeping Beauty is centuries overdue on rest, and the Little Mermaid resembles a sea witch more than an innocent creature of the waves. Teddy himself proves surprisingly resourceful, crafting a bow and melee weapons out of a pair of scissors and turning needles into arrows and grappling hooks.

Each level blends combat, obstacles, and hidden secrets as you gain experience and branch out Teddy's skills. The challenges range from battling bloodthirsty rubber duckies to exploring a giants' castle among the clouds, and the adventure doesn't shy away from posing difficult questions about life along the way. It's a compelling PC action-adventure where fairytale nostalgia meets genuine darkness.
