Man of Medan is the opening chapter of The Dark Pictures Anthology, a collection of stand-alone, branching cinematic horror adventures on PC. The premise starts innocently enough: five friends set out on a holiday diving trip, only for their getaway to spiral into something far more sinister. What begins as a leisurely voyage soon becomes a horrifying ordeal aboard a derelict ghost ship, and the terror only tightens from there.
As with the rest of the anthology, choice sits at the heart of the experience. Every playable character can live or die, and the decisions you make throughout the story directly determine who survives and who does not. That weight gives each playthrough real stakes, since the fate of the entire group rests on how you handle the tension.
The horror is best shared. You can play through the branching narrative solo, team up with a friend online, or gather up to five players together offline for safety in numbers. It is a game built to be experienced with others rather than in isolation, and the anthology's own advice makes the point plainly: don't play alone. Who you choose to save is entirely up to you.
