About The Bard's Tale Trilogy

The Bard's Tale Trilogy poster

The Bard's Tale Trilogy is a remastering of the classic 1980s series, one of the founding works of the RPG genre, bringing all three original games together in a single collection. It also serves as the backstory to The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep and The Mage's Tale, letting you create an adventuring party in the first volume and carry it across all three to build a heroic story of your own.

The set contains remastered versions of The Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown, The Bard's Tale II: The Destiny Knight, and The Bard's Tale III: Thief of Fate. Across them you rescue a city trapped by a wizard, reforge the legendary Destiny Wand, and travel through time and space to confront a Mad God, all with a consistent playing experience that removes the need for emulation or compatibility workarounds. An in-game manual and bestiary supply the information needed to meet the challenges ahead.

Modern conveniences make the trilogy welcoming while honoring its roots. For the first time you can play as male or female across all three games, and quality-of-life additions include automapping, spell access, and updated equipment and inventory management. Veterans can switch on Legacy Mode to relive the games much as they were originally played, offering old fans and newcomers alike a way into this dungeon-crawling RPG on PC.
