About The Ascent

The Ascent is an action-shooter RPG playable solo or in co-op, set on Veles, a densely packed cyberpunk world. You live inside The Ascent Group arcology, a corporate-run metropolis that stretches high into the sky and teems with creatures from across the galaxy, working as an indentured laborer owned by the company that controls everyone in your district.

Everything changes when The Ascent Group abruptly shuts down for unknown reasons, throwing your district's survival into doubt. Suddenly caught in a cascade of catastrophic events, you take up arms and set out to uncover what triggered the collapse, confronting the unsettling question of whether you can even survive without the corporation that has always owned you.

The shooting is explosive and tactical, letting you aim high or low, swap weapons, equip lethal gadgets, take cover, and use destructible environments to your advantage while constantly adapting to new enemies. RPG systems run underneath, allowing you to install cyberware suited to your playstyle, allocate skill points as you level up, and experiment with augmentations to dispatch foes in creative ways. Playable alone or with up to three friends in local or online co-op, this action-adventure FPS and RPG hybrid sends you exploring a vibrant cyberpunk world of slums and luxury spheres on PC.
