About Team Fortress 2

Team Fortress 2 poster

Team Fortress 2 is a free-to-play online action game with no strings attached, letting you play as much as you like for as long as you like. One of the most popular and highly rated multiplayer shooters around, it has been kept alive by a steady stream of free updates that add new game modes, maps, equipment, and, famously, hats.

At its heart are nine distinct classes, each with its own tactical role, personality, and set of abilities, so there is a fit for just about any playstyle and experience level. Newcomers are not left to fend for themselves either, with detailed training and offline practice modes on hand to sharpen your skills before you jump into the game's many modes, which include Capture the Flag, Control Point, Payload, Arena, and King of the Hill, among others.

Customization is a big part of the appeal. Hundreds of weapons, hats, and other items can be collected, crafted, bought, and traded, letting you tune your favorite class to match your tactics and personal taste. Crucially, the design avoids pay-to-win, since virtually every item in the Mann Co. Store can also be found through regular play, keeping the action fair on PC.
