Tchia is an open-world action-adventure that follows a young girl setting out to save her father from Meavora, the cruel tyrant who rules over her tropical archipelago. Inspired by New Caledonia, it tells a poetic coming-of-age story across a physics-driven sandbox where you climb, glide, swim, and sail your boat between beautiful islands at your own pace.
Tchia's defining gift is Soul Jumping, which lets her take control of almost any animal or object she comes across. With more than thirty animals and hundreds of objects available, you might soar as a bird, dive through the ocean as a fish, or dig for treasure as a dog, using these abilities to explore, solve puzzles, and uncover the world's secrets. Traversal is just as freeform, thanks to a Tricks system for stunts and dives, unrestricted free climbing that even works on physics-based trees, and a customizable boat for crossing turquoise lagoons past coral reefs and shipwrecks.
Combat comes in the form of open encounters against the Maano, strange enemies conjured from wood and fabric by Meavora. These fights reward improvisation, drawing on Tchia's full range of abilities. Rounding out the experience is a fully playable ukulele, alongside the family-friendly, indie spirit that runs through this platformer and puzzle-tinged adventure on PC.
