Tales of the Neon Sea is a retro pixel-art adventure that unfolds in a fully realized cyberpunk city, an indie detective story packed with objects to examine, hidden easter eggs, and a cast of NPCs to talk to. Progress comes from paying attention to detail, piecing together evidence, and uncovering the truth hidden behind the ever-present mist that hangs over the streets.
You take on the role of Rex, a former police officer turned hard-boiled private investigator, working cases in a towering future metropolis where a sky city blocks out the sun but neon signs keep the streets glowing around the clock. What begins as a strange murder soon tangles into something larger, drawing in clues tied to a robot rebellion and a semi-mechanical figure that treats itself as a god ruling over this so-called utopia.
The deeper Rex digs, the further the past resurfaces: odd implants inside the brain, a mysterious package of evidence, a shadowy figure wearing a beaked mask, all pointing back to a serial murder case from thirteen years ago. Beneath the polished skyline lie chaotic slums where rebels hide and schemes fester, and it falls to the detective to chase down leads and set unfinished stories to rest. On PC, it blends classic point-and-click investigation with a moody, atmospheric world.
