About System Shock

System Shock poster

System Shock is a fully fledged remake of the ground-breaking 1994 original, marrying its cult gameplay with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface, and fresh sounds and music. It even brings back the original voice actor behind SHODAN, one of gaming's most iconic villains, in what amounts to the rebirth of one of the most influential titles ever created.

At the center of it all is SHODAN, the psychotic AI who has seized control of Citadel Station and twisted its crew into an army of cyborgs and mutants, and who now intends to inflict the same fate on Earth. Your task is to explore and battle your way through the depths of a space station gone to hell, stopping SHODAN and averting humanity's destruction. Her termination, as the game puts it, is our salvation.

The feature set leans into that struggle: you fight to the death in the depths of space, face off against the forces of a rogue AI gone mad, and improve your skills to adapt to your foes. A non-linear story unfolds at your own pace, and you can jack into cyberspace to hack the system and open new routes, all wrapped in an innovative art style that fuses retro-future design with modern technology. An action-adventure FPS, it lets PC players shoot, brawl, crawl, climb, leap, and think their way through Citadel Station.
