About Syberia: The World Before

Syberia: The World Before poster

Syberia: The World Before weaves together the intertwined fates of two women across time. Kate Walker is a New York attorney whose life was upended by the call to adventure, while Dana Roze is a young, promising pianist in Vaghen whose career is threatened by the looming shadow of the Second World War. Their stories unfold in both 1937 and 2004, carrying you on a magical journey through the enchanting cities of Eastern Europe.

The adventure is scored by the Budapest Film Symphony under internationally acclaimed composer Inon Zur, whose work spans Prince of Persia, Dragon Age, and Fallout, and whose sublime themes give voice to the characters and locations throughout. As you carve your path, you rely on your wits to repair broken instruments, pick tricky locks, devise elaborate ways to trigger mechanisms from the past, and above all watch your surroundings closely for the clues that disentangle two lives bound together.

The game marks the culminating point of the late Benoit Sokal's steampunk and wondrous universe. Following the first two Syberia titles from the early 2000s, now regarded as point-and-click classics, and the third installment in 2017, the series returns in full glory with a brand-new story that can be played independently and modern graphics to match. An adventure title, it offers PC players an atmospheric, puzzle-rich tale steeped in music and mystery.
