Surviving the Abyss drops you into the Cold War of 1976, tasking you with building and directing a deep-sea research facility devoted to perfecting human cloning. The unforgiving abyss offers no mercy, so keeping your crew alive means managing oxygen, power, food, and much more while you discover and mine resources for construction, push back the perpetual darkness with light, and expand outward to advance your research. You can capture the strange, highly adapted flora and fauna of the deep, but the darkness conceals unexpected horrors that only your lights hold at bay.
As the observer, you lead a team of scientists conducting genetic experiments on local wildlife across the ocean floor. Keeping your population sane, obedient, and alive is a constant balancing act as you grow your base and probe the secrets of cloning, improving life and progress by researching advanced technologies, and steering the facility's fate through crucial decisions delivered by an event system.
Expansion is a puzzle of its own. You plan, place, and build the essential infrastructure for manufacturing, research, and life support, connecting buildings and mining facilities efficiently with tunnels and powerlines while conquering the uneven seabed through clever, vertical construction. An indie simulation and strategy title, it gives PC players a tense, atmospheric base-builder where survival, science, and lurking dread run side by side beneath the waves.
