Sudden Strike 4 plants you firmly in the Second World War across three sizeable campaigns fought over the era's most famous battlefields. Taking command of Allied, German, or Soviet forces, you direct more than a hundred distinct units into combat, from the German Heinkel He111 bomber and the Soviet T-34 tank to the British Hawker Typhoon and the fearsome Panzerkampfwagen VI "Tiger." This is real-time strategy built around historical hardware and the tactical decisions that decide who holds the field.

A first for the series, the game lets you pick from nine individual commanders, including figures such as George Patton and Bernard Montgomery. Each brings a different flavor to the fighting, favoring particular approaches and unlocking unique abilities that reward players willing to lean into their strengths. How you fight is very much shaped by who you choose to lead.

Beyond the campaigns, there is plenty to keep strategy fans occupied: over twenty demanding single-player scenarios, a challenge-driven skirmish mode, and competitive online multiplayer for those hunting a sterner test.
