Subnautica 2 opens the next chapter in Unknown Worlds' underwater series, this time on a brand-new alien world. Driven from home by relentless conflict, you accept Alterra's offer of a fresh start aboard the colony ship CICADA. The voyage does not go to plan. When disaster strikes and the ship's AI stubbornly insists the mission continues, you and your fellow Pioneers find yourselves stranded against near-impossible odds, with humanity's future on this planet resting on your survival.
This action-adventure is built first as a single-player journey, but you can bring up to three friends along in online co-op if you prefer company in the depths. Four pre-made characters are available at launch, with additional faces and customization arriving over the course of Early Access. Whether alone or in a group, you explore forgotten ruins and slowly learn to live on a planet that may not want you there at all.
Staying alive means using every tool you can get your hands on. You glide through vivid, striking biomes in your Tadpole submersible and design custom bases as safe harbors whenever your exploration carries you past the shallows. As Early Access progresses, your collection of equipment, gear, and vehicles expands, with upgrades helping you reach ever deeper. It is a survival experience built to grow alongside the players who dive into it on PC.
