About Stronghold HD

Stronghold HD is the original castle sim, letting you design, build and destroy historical castles across two single-player campaigns or online play with up to 8 participants. It's a foundational entry in the series, blending careful construction with the drama of medieval warfare against the AI or fellow players.

The campaigns pit you against four renegade lords, the treacherous Rat, Pig, Snake and Wolf, across 21 missions as you work to reunite medieval England and reclaim your lands. Objectives vary widely, from breaking sieges and capturing enemy castles to raising gold and holding off waves of attackers, and a full economic campaign challenges you to gather resources and build weapons within a time limit.

New high-resolution graphics grant greater command over your army than ever, while the HD battlefield view lets you zoom out and play in real time with the entire map visible at once. You can advance on castle gates while flanking foes from behind, feign a retreat to draw enemies into a deadly trap, or simply sit back and watch the destruction unfold. As a simulation and strategy title, Stronghold HD delivers classic castle building and siege warfare on PC.
