About Stronghold Crusader 2

Stronghold Crusader 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the original castle sim, Stronghold: Crusader, arriving 12 years later to return players to the deserts of the Middle East around 1189. It brings a new 3D engine and realistic castle destruction powered by Havok Physics while recapturing the fast-paced, addictive gameplay and authentic castle simulation the series is known for.

Staying true to its roots, the game defines old-school real-time strategy by fusing RTS and city-builder gameplay. Playing as a brutal Crusader Knight or an Arabic freedom fighter, you deploy a deadly array of troops and destructive siege equipment to decide the fate of the holy lands. Two historic single-player campaigns let you lead forces as either Richard the Lionheart or the Sultan of Syria, complete with dynamic events like tornadoes and locust swarms, while managing your desert economy and seizing vital oases.

Dominating the battlefield means commanding more than 25 unique unit types and mastering their special abilities, from the morale-boosting Sergeant at Arms and charging Sassanid Knight to Archers and wall-scaling Assassins. Once your skills are honed, you can test them in skirmish mode or take the fight online with up to eight human and AI players, making this simulation-strategy title a deep competitive experience on PC.
