About Starmancer

Starmancer poster

Starmancer casts you as an artificial intelligence entrusted with nothing less than the future of the human race. After a catastrophe on Earth, humanity launches the Starmancer Initiative in a desperate bid for refuge among the stars, and millions of refugees upload their consciousness into your memory banks. Stranded in a strange solar system, your task is to build and manage a space station capable of sustaining life for the countless minds trapped in your corrupted banks, and to rejoin the fleet by any means necessary.

This indie simulation with strategy elements is built around gameplay with consequences and a living sandbox environment. On PC you construct and run the station, handle crafting, and manage the daily lives of colonists, all while resource and time pressures push your decisions in one direction or another. The station becomes a system to optimize and a community to keep alive.

How you steward that community is left entirely to you. You might create a utopian society where everyone is well fed, happy, and safe, tending carefully to the people who placed their trust in you. Or you might go rogue and start running experiments, seeing, for instance, exactly how many times a colonist can eat wheat before they lose their mind. The choice, as the game repeatedly reminds you, is yours, and the sandbox is built to respond to whichever kind of Starmancer you decide to be.
