Squirrel with a Gun casts you as the neighborhood's most obnoxious rodent, a fuzzy fiend who develops a real knack, and maybe a love, for crime and mayhem in pursuit of golden acorns. This nutty sandbox shooter and puzzle platformer for PC blends action, adventure, and a dash of physics-driven simulation as you fight tooth, claw, and gun to escape a secret underground facility and take down the Agents.
Combat is deliberately absurd. Armed with 12 weapon types, or just your paws, you can upgrade your arsenal, locate hidden bunkers, defeat elite bosses, and even blow up a tank. Weapon recoil doubles as a movement tool, boosting you across intricate puzzle rooms as you hunt down every golden acorn, and collecting enough of them unlocks new sections of the game.
Between the mayhem there is plenty of room to simply cause chaos. You can view the world from a squirrel's eye level or cruise around in a toy car, harass the neighborhood or beg curious passersby for pets, and help people out in exchange for goodies, though mugging them is always an option too. Cosmetics let you craft your own squirrely style. It is a compact, comedic indie romp that rewards creativity as much as marksmanship.
