About Space Engineers

Space Engineers poster

Space Engineers is a sandbox game built around engineering, construction, exploration, and survival across the vacuum of space and the surfaces of planets. Players assemble everything from space ships and stations to planetary outposts of every size and purpose, civil or military, then pilot their creations across the void to explore new worlds and gather the resources needed to keep going. With both creative and survival modes on offer, the only real limit is what you can imagine building.

Underpinning it all is a realistic, volumetric physics engine in which everything can be assembled, disassembled, damaged, and destroyed. Structures are made from block-like modules locked together in a grid, and those volumetric objects behave like genuine physical things, complete with mass, inertia, and velocity. The game supports both single-player and multiplayer, so you can tinker alone or collaborate and clash with others.

Inspiration comes from reality and from how things actually work, roughly modeling modern NASA technology extrapolated 60 years forward while steering clear of anything that would not be feasible in the near future. The focus stays on construction and exploration, though it can also be played as a survival shooter, rewarding players who lean on creativity and engineering over direct combat. For PC players drawn to action, indie, simulation, and strategy sandboxes, it is a deep, physics-driven playground.
