Somerville is a sci-fi adventure that grounds a sweeping catastrophe in something deeply personal: one family's desperate effort to become whole again. In the aftermath of an alien invasion, you set out to find out what has happened to your loved ones, living through the intimate fallout of a global conflict rather than watching it from a distance.
The game follows a young family separated in the final moments of a hostile alien onslaught, and it lets you feel the full weight of that separation as you explore the devastation left behind. Moving through an altered landscape drenched in alien sediment, you solve environmental puzzles, and dangerous encounters must be fled, hidden from, or negotiated. Observing and learning from every alien entity you meet reveals more about the invaders' motives and methods the further you press on, and digging deep uncovers multiple endings, each with its own meaning and significance.
Somerville comes from Jumpship, an independent studio founded around an original idea by Chris Olsen and built alongside Dino Patti, ex-CEO and co-founder of Playdead. That pedigree shows in an atmospheric, respectful adventure that PC players can experience as a quiet, human story told through interactive craft.
