SHENZHEN I/O is a puzzle and simulation game about building circuits and writing code for the fictional electronics firm 深圳龙腾科技有限公司 (Shenzhen Longteng Electronics Co., Ltd.), located in the electronics capital of the world. Its motto sets the tone: build circuits, write code, and read the manual. You assemble devices from a range of components sourced from different manufacturers, including microcontrollers, memory, logic gates, and LCD screens.
The programming happens in a compact yet powerful assembly language in which every instruction can be executed conditionally, rewarding tight, clever solutions. To succeed, you genuinely need the included manual, which packs more than 30 pages of original datasheets, reference guides, and technical diagrams, so studying documentation becomes part of the challenge itself. Along the way you get to know the colorful cast of characters at your new employer.
Beyond the structured puzzles, a sandbox lets you get creative by designing and testing your own games and devices. And because engineering is genuinely hard, the game even offers a brand-new twist on solitaire for when you need a break. As an indie PC puzzler that leans into real-world electronics thinking, SHENZHEN I/O celebrates the satisfaction of engineering something that finally works.
