About SCUM

SCUM poster

SCUM welcomes prisoners to SCUM Island, where participation is non-voluntary, the environment is cruel and the inhabitants crueler still. You work off your crimes and debt to society by surviving and entertaining the masses, and death offers no escape, because your service has only just begun. It bills itself as the hardest and most realistic open-world survival game, handling every aspect of survival in painstaking detail.

That detail runs deep, from inventory management and weapon maintenance to stamina and the most complex metabolism system ever created in a video game. You must watch not only that you eat and drink to survive but what you consume to get the best out of your prisoner, all of it tied into an in-depth health system and hefty RPG-like progression that rewards careful management.

The island itself is the biggest map ever made in Unreal Engine 4 at 225 square kilometers, based on Croatian territory that spans the Adriatic coastline, lush forests and harsh cold mountains. It is riddled with villages, towns and cities, military installations and factories, plus danger areas like heavily protected bunkers and an irradiated zone full of unseen threats. As an action-adventure survival title with MMO scope, SCUM delivers a demanding PC experience for those who think they have what it takes.
