About Scorn

Scorn poster

Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry. Built around the idea of being thrown into the world, it leaves you isolated and lost inside a dream-like place, exploring interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion where the unsettling environment functions as a character in its own right. Every location carries its own theme, puzzles and inhabitants, and there are no cut-scenes to break the grisly spell.

The world is designed to feel lived-in, with each maze-like region full of rooms and paths to discover. All the storytelling happens in-game, and the world shows no sympathy if you overlook something important on your uneasy travels. Progression sees you opening new areas, acquiring different skill sets, picking up weapons and items and trying to comprehend the disturbing sights laid out before you.

Full body awareness deepens the immersion, keeping you conscious of the character's body and movement as you interact with the world in realistic ways. Objects are picked up with your hands rather than floating in midair, and machines and instruments are operated by physically grabbing their controls. As an indie action-horror title on PC, Scorn commits fully to its oppressive atmosphere and tactile sense of place.
