Rustler is an open-world, top-down action game that pays tribute to the classic GTA style and gameplay, then fuses it with a gleefully, historically inaccurate medieval setting. You play as The Guy, whose parents were apparently too lazy to give him a proper name, and you dive into a world of feudal injustice, inquisition and witch-hunting while joining The Grand Tournament. You can take on a wide variety of twisted missions and quests, or ignore the plot entirely and simply cause mayhem across the villages and cities, traveling on foot or by stolen horse and fighting with a sword or a fancy automatic crossbow.
Humor drives much of the experience, with a sense of comedy inspired by Monty Python running throughout. The medieval sandbox is packed with anachronisms and pop culture references, letting you get towed for parking in a NO HORSE ZONE, take part in cage fights at the Medieval Martial Arts Arena, pimp out your horse, or join the Round-Earthers sect. Playing as a bold, bald thug, you are free to wreak havoc however you see fit.
Combat leans into old-school, top-down mayhem, arming you with swords, spears, turds and crossbows, and rewarding creativity with holy hand grenades or even horses, since nothing is quite as deadly as galloping hooves or a drifting cart. As a poor peasant scheming to win half the kingdom, you have to get inventive to claim victory in the Grand Tournament, making this a chaotic indie action-racing romp with plenty of RPG flavor for PC players.
