About Rue Valley

Rue Valley poster

Rue Valley invites you to break free from a mysterious time loop in a journey centered on self-discovery and resilience. Set in a small, godforsaken town of the same name, this indie adventure with RPG elements casts each day as an uphill struggle against the shadows of your own mind. Along the way you meet a captivating cast of characters, each grappling with their own emotional complexities and revealing hidden depths as you come to know them better.

A distinctive personality system lets you craft your own character. You might become a cold-hearted loner who overthinks every decision, or a melodramatic loudmouth who always trusts their gut. Whether you channel your true self or role-play someone entirely different, your character shapes the dialogues and interactions throughout the game. Memories are stored in a graph that unlocks intentions and mindsets as you progress, and each playthrough can unfold uniquely depending on the mindsets you commit to.

Those quirky mindsets lead to unexpected and often hilarious exchanges, and personality-altering Status Effects add further texture, making you more outgoing when drunk or extra sensitive when anxious. Because the loop always restarts from the beginning, you are free to experiment with different answers and timelines, testing choices without lasting consequence, or so it seems. For PC players who enjoy narrative-driven RPGs with a strong psychological hook, Rue Valley offers plenty to unravel.
