About Retro Machina

Retro Machina poster

Retro Machina is an action-adventure with puzzle elements set in a world where only one city remains, now inhabited solely by robots. Protected beneath a glass dome, the city of Endeavor rises above a once-lively landscape, kept running by worker robots that must perform their jobs flawlessly. Any robot found with imperfections is simply discarded, and that unforgiving logic sets the story in motion.

You play as a single worker robot cast into a junkyard after a malfunction, now on a quest to get itself repaired. The city, however, views its former colleague as a threat, so its robots and defenses turn against you. Your key advantage is a unique ability to control other machines, including the very robots standing in your way, letting you turn enemies into tools as you push toward fixing yourself and searching for intelligent life.

That search gives the indie adventure its melancholy heart, since humans vanished long ago and left only their robotic creations behind in a world now falling apart. By hacking and commandeering nearby machines, you can make them fight one another, reach otherwise inaccessible places, and solve environmental puzzles. On PC, Retro Machina blends exploration, combat, and clever machine-control mechanics into a stylish, mysterious journey.
