About Retreat to Enen

Retreat to Enen poster

Retreat to Enen is an atmospheric survival adventure set in the year 3600 CE, in a future where humanity has stepped back from the brink of extinction. After centuries of war, socio-economic strife, and looming climate catastrophe, people chose a path of healing, peace, and reverence for the ecosystem. Now, every human who reaches adulthood is tasked with learning to become one with nature on the island of Enen, and the game centers on this rite of passage.

Arriving on the legendary island, you learn to live in harmony with nature by surviving on your own, uncovering the island's secrets, and mastering the art of meditation. This mindful approach to survival makes meditation essential to progress, setting a relaxing yet engaging tone. You'll map out Enen, forage for food, hunt game, and gather supplies to build a peaceful home, while seeking ancient ruins and meditation points that reveal the secrets of 37th-century humanity.

Much of the appeal lies in the raw beauty of its world. You roam three vast, distinct biomes, diving into breathtaking underwater environments off tropical beaches, stalking deer through dense redwood forests, and crunching through snow and ice in the chilly Arctic. As an indie action-adventure on PC, it offers a contemplative spin on the survival genre.
