The setting returns to Raccoon City, the midwestern city that once served as headquarters for the pharmaceutical giant Umbrella. After the 1998 zombie outbreak, the government approved a sterilization operation, a missile strike meant to bring the crisis quickly under control, an act that was swiftly covered up. That history of disaster and despair hangs over the new story.

Grace is an intelligence analyst known for intense focus and sharp deductive reasoning, an introvert shaken by her mother's death who heads alone to an abandoned hotel to investigate the mysterious circumstances. Leon, a survivor of the Raccoon City Incident, brings a strong sense of justice and hardened capabilities honed across countless outbreaks. On PC, this action-adventure horror entry weaves their paths together.
