About Rage

RAGE is a groundbreaking first-person shooter set in the not-too-distant future, after an asteroid slams into Earth and leaves behind a ravaged world. You emerge into this enormous wasteland to find humanity struggling to rebuild against bandit gangs, roving mutants, and the Authority, an oppressive government regime with a particular interest in you. Blending intense FPS combat with breakneck vehicle warfare and a huge world to explore, it was powered by id's revolutionary id Tech 5 technology for jaw-dropping visuals.

The story begins as world leaders, dreading a planet-wide extinction from the incoming asteroid, bury life-sustaining pods filled with select survivors deep beneath the earth. You are one of these chosen few, part of a kind of modern ark, and you surface alone into the RAGE universe once the danger has passed. Left to your own devices in a land full of people who would rather see you dead, the game pairs powerful storytelling with heart-pounding action.

Combat blends visceral first-person gunplay with exploration, sending you up against bandit gangs and mutant hordes using an arsenal of exotic weapons and gadgets.
