About Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost poster

Paradise Lost imagines an alternate history in which World War II dragged on for two more decades before ending in catastrophe, as the Nazis launched nuclear missiles across most of Europe. In the aftermath, the continent's heart lies buried under ruin and deadly radiation, sealed off from the rest of the world and shrouded in mystery. It is a bleak setting that this indie adventure uses to frame a deeply personal story.

You play as Szymon, a twelve-year-old survivor wandering the barren nuclear wasteland of Poland. Struggling with grief and searching for any reason to hope, he stumbles upon a massive abandoned Nazi bunker and descends into it. Inside waits a retrofuturistic world where advanced industrial technology is tangled together with mysterious Slavic pagan imagery, and an entire underground city hides within its depths.

As you explore this hidden place on PC, the choices you make shape Szymon's future while you work to uncover the story lurking in the shadows of the past. Learning the fate of the bunker's inhabitants becomes a way of confronting deeper questions, because in discovering what happened to them, you may also discover something about yourself. Atmospheric and narrative-driven, Paradise Lost is a slower, more reflective kind of adventure.
