About Of Ash and Steel

Of Ash and Steel poster

Of Ash and Steel is an action RPG that leans hard into a demanding, methodical combat system. You don't begin as a legendary warrior; instead you play Tristan, an ordinary man who must earn his skill through practice. Managing stamina, timing attacks and parries, and finding the right combination of stances and weapon types are all part of a learning curve that rewards patience, with both character and player growing steadily over time.

Combat offers three distinct battle stances, several weapon types, and active skills, letting you shape a fighting style that fits you, whether that's a nimble rapier duelist or a heavily armored knight, or something entirely of your own making. The game promises more than 45 hours of main story stuffed with dialogue, developed characters, books, and side quests, plus two major factions to align with, each carrying its own storyline, quests, and exclusive rewards.

The setting is a lively open-world island of varied biomes ripe for exploration, and there's a broad set of professions to pick up along the way, from fishing and hunting to alchemy and blacksmithing, where you can even forge a one-of-a-kind sword. Wrapped around it all is a story full of twists, humor, and discovery, following a would-be cartographer destined for something far greater on PC.
