Observer: System Redux is set in the year 2084, in a future far darker than anyone imagined. First came the Nanophage, a digital plague that killed thousands upon thousands of people who chose to augment their minds and bodies. Then came the War, leaving both West and East decimated, and with no one left to seize power, corporations took over and forged their own crooked empires. You are a tool of that corporate oppression, feared and despised, hacking into the darkest corners of your suspects' minds to expose their fears and extract whatever your investigation requires.
You play Daniel Lazarski, an elite investigator portrayed by the late cyberpunk icon Rutger Hauer. As an Observer, you hack into suspects' minds to pull out clues and evidence, since anything they felt, thought, or remembered can be used to solve your case.
Using a device called the Dream Eater, you invade the minds of the dead and dying to relive their final moments and explore their fears and obsessions, delving into twisted neural mazes in search of clues that point toward an elusive killer, though the deeper you go, the greater the risk of losing your own sanity. As an indie adventure steeped in the atmosphere of a war-ravaged, cyber-plagued 2084, this PC title offers a tense, unsettling detective experience.
