About Norland

Norland is a medieval colony sim set after the fall of the Empire, in a land now divided among squabbling successor kingdoms whose lords and ladies feud with cloak and dagger or sword and shield while greater threats loom. Famines ravage the peasantry, warfare and disunity strain the social order, noble families slip into decadence, and beyond the old borders great armies of pillage gather under the banners of invader-kings. In these uncertain times you must lead your small kingdom to greatness and keep your noble family alive, a game built to generate stories of both great valor and vile treachery.

Your family rules from on high, working together or plotting against one another as they take charge of the city, the kingdom, and its political intrigues. Each member has distinct strengths, weaknesses, and ambitions that drive their choices, and they build complex relationships among themselves and with foreign rulers, producing blooming friendships, drunken escapades, and brutal assassinations.

Those nobles issue orders to your peasants, lead armies into battle, and study ancient texts full of knowledge, with a broad range of skills determining which family members are best suited to which tasks.
