About NEBULOUS: Fleet Command

NEBULOUS: Fleet Command is a heavily simulation-driven strategy game that puts you in charge of a fleet of space warships built around your own approach to battle. You might assemble a compact task group of rugged, flexible multi-role vessels, field a larger formation of specialized ships, or land somewhere between those extremes. Tactical combat spans kinetic rounds, beam weapons, realistic radar, and electronic warfare, blending pre-mission planning, split-second decisions under fire, and the sting of losing ships you cannot replace.

The economy management typical of the genre is set aside here so that you can focus purely on the fight. You drop into the battlespace with your full fleet and plot each move deliberately, since deep, methodical combat built on thrusts, withdrawals, and counter-thrusts sustains the tension without burying the screen in constant explosions. No reinforcements arrive, so every hit lands hard and every loss matters, rewarding careful planning and clean execution.

Control runs unusually deep on PC. Rather than boxing units and right-clicking a target, you direct each ship down to its individual mounts, keeping the whole fleet together or peeling off task units on the fly. Victory belongs to the commander who thinks ahead, and each engagement tends to linger in your mind well after the shooting stops.
