About Monster Sanctuary

Monster Sanctuary poster

Monster Sanctuary blends monster collecting with Metroidvania-style exploration, dropping you into an expansive world where your creatures do far more than fight. Their unique abilities let you fly, ride, and force your way through environmental puzzles and precise platforming, so the map opens up gradually as your roster grows and you decide which routes to tackle.

Your journey starts by choosing an ancient spectral familiar, a companion that guides your earliest steps and stays at your side as you catch the first of 101 monsters. From there it's up to you to hatch, collect, and train creatures gathered from across the world, each with its own abilities and a skill tree you can customize as your team develops. Combat is deliberately tactical: you order your attacks to maximize efficiency and stack them into devastating combos, grinding toward stronger lineups and the rarest monster eggs while facing tough foes and endurance challenges.

Once your team is battle-ready, the competition extends beyond the campaign. Online player-versus-player battles pit your trained monsters and maxed-out skill trees against friends and rivals worldwide in a fight to leave the last monsters standing. On PC, this mix of collecting, RPG progression, and strategy gives the adventure plenty of long-term pull.
