Monster Hunter: World welcomes you into a new world as a hunter tasked with slaying ferocious monsters in a living, breathing ecosystem, where the landscape and its diverse inhabitants can be turned to your advantage. As the latest installment in the series at its release, it lets you take on quests to hunt monsters across a variety of habitats, then use materials collected from fallen foes to craft stronger weapons and armor so you can face even bigger, deadlier beasts.
You can pursue your hunts alone or in co-op with up to three other players, battling gigantic monsters in epic locales and using everything at your disposal to gain the upper hand. The rhythm of the game revolves around taking down these creatures, gathering their materials, and steadily upgrading your gear to challenge more dangerous prey in a world teeming with surprises and excitement.
The setting adds weight to the hunt. Once every decade, elder dragons cross the sea to migrate to the land known as the New World, a phenomenon called the Elder Crossing, and to investigate it the Guild forms the Research Commission and dispatches large fleets. As the Fifth Fleet pursues the colossal elder dragon Zorah Magdaros, one hunter embarks on a journey grander than anything imagined, in an action RPG built to breathe on PC.
