Magicraft is a magic-fueled action roguelike built around a world overrun by ancient gods. It conjures an airborne fantasy realm and casts you as an adventurer who stumbles into it and draws out the legendary staff, marking you as the hero destined to fight back. From there you crusade against monsters, experiment with spell combinations, and work toward defeating the ancient gods to save a world falling under their influence.
The game pairs its magical setting with roguelike action and a dark, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. Beginning as a novice mage, you grow into a master across five chapters, journeying through dense forests, purgatory and rifts in space and time before confronting the Demon Lord. Corrupted and magical creatures throw obstacles in your path, and it falls to you to rescue an increasingly rotten world from the grip of the ancient gods.
Spellcraft is where much of the depth lies, with roughly a hundred spells to weave together into unexpected effects and dazzling combinations. Whether you lean toward summoning, elemental magic or melee spellcasting, the sheer number of pairings invites builds even the developers may not have anticipated. Rich roguelike elements round out this indie action RPG, making every run on PC feel distinct.
