Little Orpheus is a technicolor side-scrolling adventure set in 1962, as NASA races to put a man on the moon and, in a remote corner of Siberia, a Soviet cosmonaut heads in the opposite direction. Comrade Ivan Ivanovich is lowered into an extinct volcano aboard his exploration capsule, the Little Orpheus, to journey toward the center of the earth, and promptly vanishes. Three years later he resurfaces claiming to have saved the world, though he has also misplaced the atomic bomb that powered his craft.
Hauled into a top-secret bunker beneath the Ural mountains, Ivan is debriefed by the fearsome General Yurkovoi, and the story unfolds as our bold but hapless hero recounts his impossible tale. Join him as he explores lost civilizations, undersea kingdoms, prehistoric jungles, and lands beyond imagination, battling the subhuman Menkv tribe, escaping dreadful monsters, and triumphing against absurd odds. Inspired by classic films like Flash Gordon, Sinbad, and The Land that Time Forgot, the game pairs its vivid, cinematic settings with platforming and light puzzle-solving. Blending adventure, casual, and platformer sensibilities, it delivers a witty, richly narrated journey on PC that leans as much on its storytelling charm as on its gameplay.
